Knoxville Guinea Pig Rescue is a family run rescue that opened in June 2001 by Janet Adams and her three children. Peggy Barron is the Coordinator bringing over 40 years of Guinea Pig experience with her.
TN Valley Golden Retriever Rescue
TVGRR helps Goldens located in Northern Alabama, East Tennessee and select parts of Southeast Kentucky. Each year we place approximately 145 Golden Retrievers in forever homes.

Young-Williams Animal Center
The Young-Williams Animal Center (YWAC) is the public shelter for the city of Knoxville and Knox County, Tennessee. YWAC is a 22,000 square foot facility that opened in the spring of 2004, having moved from a temporary facility that had served as the public shelter for three years. In 2011, YWAC housed almost 15,000 animals, of which 5,762 were adopted, reclaimed by owner, or transferred to the care of rescue groups or other shelters. YWAC has an annual budget of $2 million and has approximately 40 employees. YWAC was reviewed by the ASPCA who said, “This is an incredible ‘must see’ shelter for southern areas to visit.”
