About Us
Dr. Sherri Mellskog received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1988 from the University of Missouri in Columbia. She also earned a BS in Animal Science from the University and a BA in Biology and Equestrian Science from Stephens College. She is a memeber of the Knoxville Veterinary Academy and the American Veterinary Medical Association. She moved to Knoxville in 1993 with her husband William Thomas who is also a veterinarian and is on staff at the College of Veterinary Medicine. She breeds and raises Trakehner horses. She has two daughters, ages eleven and four. Adding to her family is a yellow lab named Tanner, a Jack Russell named Clover and a cat named Shadow. They all reside with 14 horses on a 44 acre farm. When she finds some spare time she likes to spend time with her kids, horseback ride, and swim.

Katrina Marshall is originally from Livingston, TN, which is located on the Cumberland Plateau. She graduated from Lincoln Memorial University with a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Technology. Katrina is a licensed Vet Technician and loves working with animals. She has three cats of her own whose names are Sunny, Stormy and Felix. In her spare time she enjoys reading, playing sports, painting and doing anything that involves being at the lake.

Holly Hattemer-Frey is a part-time receptionist. She founded and runs the Stray Connection, a non-profit cat rescue group. The Stray Connection rescues and adopts about 130 cats and kittens a year that would otherwise be euthanized. The Stray Connection has also been involved in rescuing cats from local hoarding situations, including the rescue of 121 cats from the Angel Wings Cat Rescue and Sanctuary in Jun 2005. She has worked as a receptionist in a veterinary clinic for the last 10 years. She enjoys reading, hiking, spending time with her husband and 9 cats, and traveling. |
Emily Isbell started grooming at Lovell Animal Hospital in April 2011. She acquired her grooming degree in November 2009 from Nash Academy of Animal Arts located in Lexington, Ky. She has been grooming for 2 years and has been assisting in grooming facilities since 2008. She has 2 cats whose names are Merlin and Nina whom she loves dearly. In her spare time she enjoys writing and collecting playing cards.

Josh Dutt is a kennel employee at Lovell Animal Hospital and recently graduated from Farragut High School. He is the proud owner of two Shih-Tzu’s, one a pure-bred black and white named Willow, the other a caramel colored imperial named Rosy. Josh loves to hunt and go fishing in his spare time.

Stacie Loyd started working at Lovell Animal Hospital in March of 2011 as a vet assistant. She is currently attending the University of Tennessee and pursuing a degree in Animal Science. Once Stacie completes her Animal Science degree she hopes to entire into UT’s Vet Program to become a veterinarian. In her spare time Stacie enjoys riding horses, reading, and playing her banjo or guitar.

Sandra Getley is originally from Staffordshire England. Sandra has lived in Knoxville for nearly ten years with her husband Steven and their two children. Her extended family is two dogs Anna and Mowgli. Sandra loves the Mountains and Lakes, during the summer time you can probably find her on the lake enjoying the Tennessee sunshine. |
